Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting a Team Leader for a prominent renewable power organisation. You will supervise plant turbine and boiler operations while coordinating waste flow, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Lead the operations team on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, monitor DCS readings, and report daily metrics. You will oversee emergency repairs and drive continuous improvement across engineering and manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating high pressure boilers and steam turbine plants.
  • Experience supervising a team.
  • A current first aid qualification would be desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A keen eye for detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor all functions associated with the operation of the plant turbine, boilers, and coordination of incoming and outgoing waste.
  • Regularly observe the Direct Control System (DCS) to check temperature, flow, pressure, readings from control systems, gauges and alarms.
  • Allocate jobs to all Operations staff on shift and supervise emergency procedures in the Team Leader's absence.
  • Accurately report readings and log daily operations in the shift log; report on night shift readings and emissions.
  • Ensure planned and unplanned repairs, blockages and changes in the plant central systems are addressed promptly.
  • Handle out-of-hours calls and deliveries, including weekends and nights.

Description
  • Manage and monitor all functions associated with the operation of the plant turbine, boilers, and coordination of incoming and outgoing waste.
  • To accurately anticipate for mishaps and maintain control of the above by regular observation of the Direct Control System (DCS) to check temperature flow, pressure readings from the turbine/boiler, readings from control systems, gauges, and alarms.
  • Manage and support the operations team while ensuring compliance to all Company policies and procedures.
  • Accurately report readings and note daily operations in the shift log for continued monitoring and shift changeovers, as well as reporting on readings from any night shift work, and report on daily emissions.
  • To ensure any planned and unplanned (i.e. emergency) repairs, blockages and changes in the plant central systems are dealt with appropriately and in a timely fashion.
  • To allocate jobs to all Operations staff on shift.
  • To supervise and implement emergency procedures during any mishap in the absence of the Team Leader.
  • To promptly handle all out of hours (including weekend/night shifts) telephone calls and deliveriesProfile
Profile
  • Experience and/or understanding of operating high pressure boilers and steam turbine plants.
  • Experience of supervising a team.
  • A current first aid qualification would be desirable.

Job Offer
  • Salary up to £53,529.
  • Salary range of £53,529
  • 4 on 4 off shift pattern - 7 week rotation - then 18 days off
