Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Door Group in Lisburn is seeking an experienced Welder to join the manufacturing team. The role focuses on MIG welding of steel components to engineering drawings and assembling metal parts to tight tolerances.

You will read and interpret technical drawings, operate welding equipment safely, and maintain a clean, organized workspace per 5S standards while supporting continuous improvement and teamwork within production.

Qualifications

• Experienced in welding or fabrication roles.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Carry out MIG welding of steel components in line with drawings and specs.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced welder who takes pride in producing high-quality work and responsibility for manufacturing and assembling door components to a high standard of workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out MIG welding of steel components in accordance with engineering drawings and production specifications.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
• Assemble and fabricate metal components to required tolerances.
• Conduct visual inspections to ensure weld quality and product compliance.
• Operate welding and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area in line with 5S and housekeeping standards.
• Adhere to all company health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the production area.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, team leaders, and other departments to meet production targets.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a welding or fabrication role.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements in a manufacturing environment.
