Job summary

Riverford in Buckfastleigh is hiring a Production Operative to join our employee-owned, friendly production team. You will pick and pack meat and recipe box orders in a chilled environment, using a pick-by-light system and PPE provided.

The role is 40 hours per week, Sunday to Thursday, 6:30am–2:30pm, with paid bank holidays. You should be able to lift crates of produce, communicate in English, and work accurately and efficiently as part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications

This role is a permanent contract, 40 hours per week - Working 6:30am - 2:30pm Sunday to Thursday which is inclusive of Bank Holidays.

Location: Wash Farm, Buckfastleigh, TQ11 0JU

Pay: £13.90 per hour

What you’ll be doing…

As well as veg, our website offers an outstanding range of organic meat, which is processed, packaged and delivered to us by our own local butchery. When a customer order is placed, it gets sent to the meat packing team, who make sure that our customers receive a complete, presentable box packed with all the tasty things they’ve chosen.

As a team member in this area, you will pick and pack both meat and recipe box orders, using our pick-by-light system. You will be working in a chilled environment of 2 degrees, so, although the correct PPE will be provided, you do need to be comfortable working in the cold.

You will use your initiative to make sure that you are only packing the very best produce for our customers. You may be asked to help in other departments, or muck in and help with keeping the production area clean and tidy, so you will need to be generally enthusiastic and keen to work as part of a team to get the job done.

• You should have good communication skills and be able to speak and understand English to a level that enables you to comprehend instructions and the daily requirements of the role
