Job summary

The Focusrite Group is seeking a 12‑month placement student to assist the Production Systems Development team. You will help develop bespoke test systems for overseas factories, support new product introductions, and implement automated tests for PCBA and Final Assembly.

You will work in an Agile, cross-functional design & engineering team, contributing to continuous improvement and remote support across factories. A strong electronics background and hands‑on coding with Python are valued.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed a BEng/BSc in Electronics, Mechatronics or related engineering field.
• Hands-on prototyping with Arduino, Teensy, Raspberry Pi or similar platforms.
• Experience with web technologies: C++, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.
• Familiarity with dev-ops tools: Git, Ansible, Linux.

Responsibilities

• Develop factory tests for new products entering production using in-house tooling.
• Contribute to new product introduction from design to mass production.
• Support PCBA and Final Assembly strategies for new products.
• Implement automated functional test procedures and systems.
• Contribute to R&D of testing areas (robotics, machine vision).
• Provide remote technical support to overseas factory engineers.
• Communicate with cross-functional teams clearly.
• Demonstrate good debugging and problem-solving abilities.
• Maintain commitment to continuous improvement.
• Collaborate within an Agile team.
