Job summary

Autochair, based in Alfreton, Derbyshire, is seeking a Production Support Operative to join our manufacturing team. The role focuses on ensuring accurate goods movement via ERP, safe material handling, and supporting transfers between sites. You will work Monday to Friday, with on-call requirements and staggered shifts to cover despatches.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in manufacturing, a good command of IT, and a clean driving license; forklift experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• IT literacy and ERP familiarity.
• Minimum 3 years in a manufacturing role.
• Able to operate equipment safely per health & safety procedures.
• Ability to work on own initiative and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure goods delivered are correct in quantity and quality and processed via ERP.
• Transfer goods safely to correct locations and work areas from manufacturing sites.
• Participate in inter-site transfers of goods.
• Ensure ERP transfers are processed promptly and correctly.
• Pick and package goods and transfer to correct locations via ERP.
• Move goods to collection area for external shipment.
• Record NCRs and report stock movements to quarantine area.
• Act as focal point for stock-related issues and identify improvement opportunities.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3.30 pm Mon-Thu and 7 am to 2.00 pm Friday

Due to the forecasted continued growth of our business, we are seeking to recruit Production Support Operatives to join our team.

As our Production Support Operative you will:

• Ensure that all goods delivered are of the correct quantity, of acceptable quality and processed promptly and correctly via the ERP system
• Transfer goods safely to the correct location, physically moving items to the appropriate work area in a prompt, safe, and efficient manner
• Participate in the transfer of goods between manufacturing sites
• Ensure that all ERP system transfers are processed promptly and correctly
• Ensure that all goods picked are of the correct quantity, and of acceptable quality as defined by the Quality Control procedures and processed promptly and correctly via the ERP system
• Pick and package goods appropriately and transfer safely to the correct location and process these promptly and correctly via the ERP system
• Physically move goods to the appropriate collection area in a prompt, safe, and efficient manner in order to facilitate external shipment.
• NCR recording and reporting, ensuring physical movement into Quarantine area
• Act as a focal point for any day-to-day "stock" related issues which may arise, utilising the data generated to proactively suggest any potential opportunities for improvement.

In order to be successful in this role you must have:

• Good standard of verbal and written communication skills
• Forklift truck experience preferrable
• Clean driving license desirable
• IT competent
• 3 Years + experience in a manufacturing role
• Able to operate equipment in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all health and safety procedures
• Work on own initiative, check work and solve problems

There is a requirement to be on call for our alarm (rota basis and premium payment), also to work a staggered shift to cover despatches (approximately one week in 5).
