Job summary

MTrec is recruiting a Production Supervisor to lead a busy fabrication shop. You will be hands-on, drive 5S, oversee planning of inputs and outputs, and ensure health and safety standards.

The role requires strong leadership, experience with machining, welding, and bending, and the ability to manage staff, schedules and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in fabrication workshop including machining, drilling, bending and welding.
• Strong PPE use and health and safety awareness.
• Excellent organizational and planning abilities.
• Proven people management and leadership skills.
• Experience with lean manufacturing and Kanban.
• Flexible to work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong leadership on the shop floor.
• Implement 5S and improve housekeeping.
• Plan job inputs and outputs with the team.
• Monitor methods and workflow for efficiency.
• Update written and database systems.
• Monitor stock levels and purchasing.
• Maintain HSE standards and a safe work environment.
• Ensure on-time delivery and target timings.
• Engage and train operators through toolbox talks.
• Maintain documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Oversee staff recruitment, disciplinary actions, and timekeeping.
• Enforce PPE use and safety rules.

The Job you'll do

• Providing strong leadership.
• Implementing 5S.
• Hands on shop floor in jobbing shop environment.
• Working with the team in planning of job inputs and outputs.
• Monitoring methods and workflow.
• Updating written and database systems.
• Monitoring stock levels/ purchasing.
• Motivational management maintaining HSE and safe and tidy work environment.
• Achieving planned delivery on time.
• Enabling engagement and training of operation with informal and formal toolbox talks.
• Maintaining, monitoring and reporting job target timings.
• Ensuring all documentation and standard operating procedures are maintained and complied with.
• Ensure the management, recruitment, disciplinary and timekeeping of staff.
• Ensure health and safety rules are followed and PPE is always used as appropriate.
