Our client, a prominent player in the engineering industry, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Production Supervisor to lead their shop floor production operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who is passionate about driving efficiency, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring high-quality production standards.
Oversee day-to-day production activities, ensuring adherence to operational targets and deadlines. Manage and lead shop floor employees, including performance management, absence management, and recruitment. Drive a culture of continuous improvement, working closely with the Engineering and Project Management teams. Ensure safety compliance and maintain a clean, organised work environment in line with company policies. Conduct risk assessments and support operators in adhering to safe work practises. Investigate quality issues and implement root cause corrective actions to enhance production quality. Collaborate with the Planning team to align production schedules with customer demands. Utilise KPIs and PIs to monitor team performance, making recommendations for improvements. Support the People & Culture department in employee relations matters and development plans.
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment (Nuclear and Aerospace experience is desirable). Proven track record in managing production within a busy department. Exceptional leadership and organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively. Strong verbal and written communication skills, coupled with high emotional intelligence. Analytical problem-solving abilities and experience with ERP systems. Knowledge of Health & Safety standards and practises.
Excellent communication and presentation skills. Strong mentoring and coaching capabilities. Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships across all levels of the organisation. High computer literacy, with experience in managing databases and spreadsheets. Resilience, accountability, and a commitment to integrity and professionalism.
