Job summary

Samworth Brothers is looking for a Production Planner to build daily and weekly production plans, ensuring stock availability and accurate order processing. You will collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain and other teams to keep plans aligned and respond quickly to changes in demand.

The role requires experience in production planning or operations, strong Excel and data skills, and an understanding of FMCG manufacturing. A proactive, calm and organised approach will help you thrive.

Qualifications

  • Experience in production planning, supply chain or operations.
  • Confident with data, planning systems and Excel.
  • Understanding of production in FMCG/manufacturing.
  • Experience managing changes to plans, solving problems and making decisions at pace.

  • Create daily and weekly production plans so the factory knows what to make and when.
  • Make sure materials and stock are available for each production run.
  • Keep stock at the right levels—not too high and not too low; update customer orders with clarity.
  • Work with Operations, Technical, Supply Chain, Commercial and other teams to align plans.
  • Update forecasts and reflect demand changes; spot risks and escalate when needed.
  • Monitor production performance versus plan and update systems with live data.
  • Support meetings by sharing updates on stock, service and performance.
  • Keep all planning data and systems accurate and up to date.

About The Role

Tuesday to Saturday 05:00 - 13:30

Key Responsibilities
  • Create daily and weekly production plans so the factory knows what to make and when.
  • Make sure materials and stock are available for each production run.
  • Keep stock at the right levels — not too high and not too low. Process and update customer orders, making sure information is clear and accurate.
  • Work with Operations, Technical, Supply Chain, Commercial and other teams to keep plans aligned.
  • Update forecasts and planning information to reflect changes in demand. Spot risks early — such as shortages, delays or bottlenecks — and escal... when needed.
  • Monitor production performance versus plan and update systems with live information.
  • Support meetings by sharing clear updates on stock, service and performance.
  • Keep all planning data and systems accurate and up to date.
