Samworth Brothers is seeking an Area Manager to lead a fast-paced logistics operation across multiple sites in the UK. You will drive performance, safety culture, and continuous improvement while managing frontline teams and collaborating with partners to deliver exceptional service.

The role requires proven leadership in logistics and a track record of developing high-performing teams, with a strong analytical mindset and stakeholder management skills.

About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Area Manager to join our fast-paced Logistics operation. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safe, efficient and cost-effective movement of products while maintaining exceptional service levels across the business. You'll lead frontline teams, drive operational performance, and play a key role in delivering continuous improvement initiatives across the logistics function.

We're seeking a proactive and driven leader who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment. You'll be highly organised, adaptable, customer-focused and committed to continuous improvement, with the ability to lead by example and deliver results through your team

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and promote a strong Health & Safety culture, ensuring compliance and best practice across all logistics activities.
• Manage, coach and develop Team Leaders and operational colleagues to achieve business and performance objectives.
• Oversee labour planning, resource allocation and day-to-day logistics operations to deliver operational efficiency.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators, identifying opportunities to improve service, productivity and cost performance.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure excellent service levels and operational effectiveness.

About You

• Proven leadership experience within a logistics, distribution, warehouse or supply chain environment.
• Strong people management skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
