Forterra Building Products is seeking a Production Operative to join our Desford site. You will help ensure product quality, support safe manufacturing, and minimise downtime to meet kiln, safety, output and quality targets.

The role requires no formal qualifications, but a minimum of 3 months of supervised training with a competency check. Forterra provides training (COSHH, LOTOTO, silica awareness, and safety procedures) and a competitive benefits package.

Competenze

• No formal education is required; 3 months supervised training and a competency check are expected.
• Training covers health & safety procedures, PPE use, and site rules.
• Commitment to safe working practices and adherence to Forterra policies.

Mansioni

• Start of shift: daily safety checks completed and issues reported to Shift Manager.
• Monitor each stage of the process to ensure correct operation.
• Rectify stoppages or malfunctions and seek assistance when needed.
• Ensure PPE is worn at all times and safety systems are functioning.
• Report health & safety irregularities to Shift Manager.
• Carry out a shift handover with the opposite shift and follow LOTOTO as required.
