Job description

Salary up to £30026 including 31% shift allowance

Daily Work Times: Sunday to Thursday Nightshift 10.00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.

Basic Hours Per Week: 37.50

Production Operator

(Location: Bampton Road, Romford, Essex, United Kingdom)

What you will do:
As a Production Operator within the Orals team, you will produce high quality pharmaceutical products with a focus on the treatment of pain, addiction and critical care, whilst ensuring that all activities within the production area are conducted in adherence to established standards of Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP).

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Complete batch manufacturing records with accuracy, neatness, and integrity to always ensure compliance
  • Follow detailed GMP working instructions and guidelines to produce high-quality products
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure batch-to-batch tasks are completed efficiently, minimising downtime.
  • Perform thorough quality control checks at various stages of the process to uphold product and patient safety
  • Undertake gowning process to enter the cleanroom safely and to GMP Regulations
  • Preparing the area & sanitising equipment for use in the production of sterile or aseptic products
  • Maintaining the cleanroom environment by following strict guidelines and SOP’s
  • Combine pharmaceutical ingredients together to make a bulk solution ready for filling
  • Depending on product type, sterilise the product using specialist equipment (autoclave)

This role is critical to ensuring that products meet quality standards and are delivered safely to end users.

Individuals will be required to wear cleanroom garments and a one-piece suit as well as PPE including powered respirators.

Due to the nature of the environment candidates must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Manual handling is required.

Individuals must demonstrate good hygiene practice and apply their training to minimise the risk of contamination.

About you:
Our ideal candidate will have knowledge of cGMP and experience working in the pharmaceutical or a similar industry, although full training will be provided. The successful candidate will be process driven, with a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills.

Basic qualifications and skills:
  • Educated to GCSE (or equivalent) level
  • Experience of working within a process driven/structured environment
  • Experience of Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience of operating machinery
  • Experience within Manufacturing, Food, Production and Hospital
  • Experience working in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment (desirable)
  • Experience of using SAP (desirable)
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards required in a production environment
  • Good understanding of cGMP within a manufacturing environment (desirable)

The ideal candidate should be methodical, adaptable, reliable, and a positive team player, with a strong technical mindset and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Working hours information:
  • 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, working early and late shifts, which will rotate on a weekly basis
  • Early shift: 6am - 2pm
  • Late shift: 2pm - 10pm
