Production Manager Required In Sandbach, Cheshire

Are you an experienced Production Manager or Operations Manager with previous experience in the Automotive or Fabrication industry? Are you familiar with working to IATF 16949 standards and Global 8D problem solving?

We are seeking a Production Manager to join a long-standing manufacturer in Sandbach, Cheshire. The role involves working day shifts from Monday to Friday (43.5 hours per week), with a salary range of GBP 45,000 to GBP 55,000 per annum (DOE).

The ideal candidate has managed teams of over 75 staff and has some experience working with CAPEX plans. Experience as a Fabricator Welder or involvement in Welding and Fabrication, progressing to a Production Manager role, would be highly regarded.

What You Will Do

1. Lead and manage production teams, including over 100 operators and team leaders, to deliver operational excellence.
2. Develop and implement production plans to achieve On Time in Full (OTIF) deliveries of over 98%.
3. Drive performance metrics such as Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People (SQCDP), fostering a culture of zero waste.
4. Oversee the introduction of new products and technologies, ensuring safe and efficient processes.
5. Utilise tools like 8D Problem Solving, 5S, OEE, SMED, and TPM to optimise performance and processes.
6. Inspire and train team leaders to independently manage daily production activities, promoting accountability and continuous improvement.

1. Proven experience in a Production or Operations Management role within the automotive or fabrication industry.
2. Knowledge of Global 8D problem solving.
3. Experience managing large teams exceeding 75 staff members.
4. Successful track record in implementing production plans and achieving high delivery performance.
5. Strong understanding of IATF 16949 standards and lean tools.
6. Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills, with a proactive approach.
7. Experience managing large and remote teams across shift patterns.
