Job summary

Terex is seeking a Production Manager to lead our Coalville manufacturing site in the UK. You will oversee production, drive safety, quality and delivery targets, and foster continuous improvement in a global engineering environment.

You will manage a manufacturing team, implement lean practices, and collaborate across functions to meet customer requirements while supporting Terex’s strategic objectives.

Qualifications

  • Significant production experience in a busy manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of supervisory/people management.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Experience with Oracle/ERP systems.
  • Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and manage time effectively.
  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Logical and methodical approach to problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain compliance with Health and Safety regulations and conduct safety audits.
  • Manage production to meet daily/weekly/monthly targets and customer specifications.
  • Drive lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead daily and weekly production meetings and coordinate inputs from people, plant, and processes.
  • Support development of the production facility to achieve strategic targets.
  • Oversee the manufacturing team, including attendance and performance management.

About the Role

This is an exciting, progressive opportunity for a Production Manager to join an established world class engineering/manufacturing Company. Terex is expanding, we are looking for someone to join us in a key role where they will help to support, manage, and develop our production facility for the future.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

To maintain compliance to all Health and Safety Regulations and promote health & safety within the workplace. Perform Safety Audits and generate investigation reports to ensure that corrective actions will eliminate reoccurrence and unsafe acts/conditions. Zero Harm. Effectively and efficiently manage the production of the required daily/weekly/monthly targets in line with customer specifications, meeting quality and delivery expectations, minimising costs where possible and ensure the required best working practices are always maintained. To ensure that the highest quality of product is maintained by driving and embedding the (TQM) Quality principles (don’t accept, don’t make, don’t pass on). Zero Defects. To attend and organise the daily and weekly production meetings. Proactively Communicating with all relevant People / Departments and coordinating all relevant inputs (People, plant, and processes) to ensure production output and on time delivery targets are achieved. Promote continual output improvements and actively contribute to a culture of innovation, excellence, and accountability. To manage the manufacturing team daily in terms of labour, work instruction, improving performance, attendance management and any disciplinary and grievance issues that may arise. To ensure lines are run in accordance with lean manufacturing practices and principals, pursuing continuous improvement opportunities e.g. Daily Kaizens, Problem solves. To understand the company vision and actively work towards achieving our aims. Undertake additional tasks within the company to improve the conditions for all employees. As part of the Management team, you will be jointly responsible for contributing towards the achievement of the company’s strategic and operational targets.

The Person / essential Experience
  • Significant production experience gained in a busy and fast-moving manufacturing environment
  • Experience and proven track record of Supervisory and /or people management is essential
  • An understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques an advantage
  • Computer literate and experience of Oracle /ERP systems
  • Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative and proficient in managing one’s own time
  • Proven track record of meeting strict deadlines and ability to adapt to changing priorities and goals
  • A logical and methodical approach to problem solving along with the ability to drive improvements
  • Committed team player who is performance driven to meet targets and Business objectives
