A leading manufacturer in Chelmsford is seeking a Production Manager to oversee manufacturing operations and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess an Engineering or Manufacturing degree and have extensive management experience in a manufacturing environment. Key responsibilities include ensuring that KPIs are met and leading improvement efforts across various departments.

Job description

We are looking for a Production Manager for a manufacturer in Chelmsford

The Production Manager will ideally have the following attributes:

• Qualified in a relevant Engineering / Manufacturing Degree with time served as a Manager.
• Previous experience working as a Manufacturing, Production, Operations or similar Manager title within manufacturing.
• Proven experience of improvements made within a manufacturing business.
• Solid knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Continuous improvement or Six Sigma.
• Can communicate with other members of staff and other members of management.
• Knowledge of various assembly and manufacturing environments.
• Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills.

The Production Manager role will involve:

• Overseeing the responsibilities for Manufacturing, Planning and other areas.
• Drive an attitude of continuous improvement activities within the business.
• Consider profit and losses whilst driving continuous improvement.
• Liaising with other departments to ensure KPI’s are met.
