About us:

Sign Makers UK are a local but growing signage company, offering the design, manufacture and installation of various signage types across the UK and further afield when required. After continued growth, we are looking to hire a sign maker/production manager to take part in and monitor the production process to help us sustain quality while we grow.

We are set in a rural business park with limited public transport, therefore candidates must have their own transport.

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Production Manager to oversee our signage manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the signage industry, signage types and manufacturing methods. This role is crucial in ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. The Production Manager will lead a small team of signage technicians through the production process as well as implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Types of signage we produce (but not limited to):

Vinyl graphics: Vehicle, Wall, Window & Floor Graphics

Shop Fascia Signage: Aluminium and Aluminum composite Sign trays, Flat cut & Built Up letters

Illuminated Signage: Illuminated sign trays, Illuminated letters

Wooden signage: Green oak signage entrance and wayfinding for local councils nature reserves, wineries & parks etc.

Responsibilities

• Manage and undertake daily production activities to ensure efficient operations and adherence to schedules.
• Oversee the entire signage manufacturing process, from vinyl department to CNC, assembly and installation, ensuring that products are manufactured to specifications and quality standards.
• To schedule works in our production software efficiently, ensuring deadlines are met to align customers expectations.
• Collaborate with installation teams to organise the installation of signage products.
• Conduct stock takes and notify purchasing of low stock items
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency.
• Train, mentor, and develop production staff to achieve their full potential.
• Conduct regular assessments of production workflows and recommend improvements.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a signage production role is essential, ideally with production management experience. Production management training can be provided for the right candidate.
• Strong knowledge of signage types and manufacturing and installation methods.
• Knowledge of signage production machinery, like CNC machines, digital printers, laminators & vinyl cutters, with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
• Demonstrated experience in implementing continuous improvement strategies.
• Excellent organisational skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong leadership abilities with effective communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
