Job summary

GI Group Main Account is seeking a Machine Operator in the UK to join a hands-on production team. The role focuses on operating and monitoring production lines, maintaining quality, uptime and safety, with on-site training and clear progression opportunities.

Ideal candidates will have machine operating experience in manufacturing, ability to work a Panama shift, and a willingness to perform basic maintenance.

Qualifications

• Proven machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to follow process parameters.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
• Willingness to work the Panama shift (rotating days/nights).
• Must be physically fit for a demanding role with heavy lifting.
• Desirable experience with flexographic processes or extrusion.
• Experience in FMCG or flexible packaging is a plus.
• Basic maintenance skills or experience with extrusion equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and monitor machine lines to meet production targets.
• Support Printer 1 with machine duties; assist extrusion dept and handle bags; log production data.
• Change reels/dies; perform cleaning and basic preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoot common issues and escalate complex faults to maintenance.
• Comply with health and safety procedures and site quality standards.
• Support shift handovers and keep accurate production records.
