Job summary

Gi Group is recruiting for a Machine Operator role in Scunthorpe to support our manufacturing client in the FMCG sector. You will operate production machinery, perform start-ups and changeovers, monitor output and uphold quality and safety standards.

The role offers weekly rotating shifts (6:00am–2:00pm and 2:00pm–10:00pm) with a pay rate of £13.64 per hour, plus pension and insurance benefits and a friendly, supportive team environment. A strong team player with good communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Machine Operator or similar manufacturing/production role.
• Ability to follow SOPs and work to quality and safety standards.
• Good attention to detail and ability to work at pace.
• Strong team player with good communication skills.
• Flexibility to work weekly rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate production machinery safely and efficiently.
• Carry out basic machine checks, start-ups, changeovers and shutdowns.
• Monitor production output to ensure quality standards are met.
• Identify faults or issues and escalate to the relevant team/engineer.
• Complete production and quality records accurately.
• Maintain a clean and safe working area in line with site standards.

Hours of work as a Machine Operator:

• Rotating weekly shifts
• 6:00am - 2:00pm
• 2:00pm - 10:00pm

Pay Rate as a Machine Operator:

£13.64 per hour

What you'll be doing as a Machine Operator:

As part of the production team, you'll contribute to the smooth running of operations.

• Operating production machinery safely and efficiently.
• Carrying out basic machine checks, start-ups, changeovers, and shut-downs.
