Job summary

Teledyne Reynolds in Newbury, Berkshire, is seeking a Production Engineer to own end-to-end manufacture of high-reliability interconnect products. You will provide line-side support to production staff and act as the main interface with Engineering for NPI and legacy ranges, while driving capital projects and shop-floor layout improvements.

The role requires knowledge of production processes, tooling and test equipment in cable harness manufacturing, plus proficiency in Excel/Access, MRP

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of production processes, tooling and test equipment in a cable harness manufacturing environment.
• HNC/HND in Electronics or Mechanical Engineering is desirable.
• Proactive and resourceful while handling multiple tasks.
• Good working knowledge of Excel, Access, MRP systems and CAD drawing package.
• Able to analyse and document issues with attention to detail and solve problems.
• Good communication skills interfacing with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end manufacture of high-rel interconnect products; document processes in specifications and procedures.
• Ensure tooling, build aids and test equipment are designed and available for backlog orders.
• Maintain capital equipment and align with industry standards.
• Raise change notes to keep product records up to date.
• Drive continuous improvement and sit with production staff to identify gains.
• Provide on-floor training on new processes and products.
• Assist Sales, Engineering and Purchasing with build times, component selection and specs.
• Troubleshoot build and test issues with operators and technicians.
• Support TPM schedules and QA to maintain high product yield.
• Help Operations meet targets for on-time delivery, PONC and revenue.
