Job summary

White Label Recruitment Ltd are recruiting a Production Engineer for an electronics manufacturing client in Newark, Nottinghamshire. You will analyse and improve production processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste, and support NPI to ensure smooth transition from design to manufacture.

You will lead Lean, Kaizen and 5S initiatives, resolve issues on the shop floor, and create manufacturing documentation.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Production Engineering.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong Lean/continuous improvement knowledge (Kaizen, 5S).
  • Good problem-solving and cross-department communication.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse, develop and improve existing production processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and ensure smooth transition from design to manufacture.
  • Identify and resolve production issues through root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation (work instructions, process flows, risk assessments).
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, 5S).
  • Provide technical support to production teams on the shop floor.
  • Monitor KPIs for quality, throughput and process reliability.
  • Ensure processes comply with health, safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with Design, Quality and Maintenance to improve processes and equipment.

Location: Newark, Nottinghamshire

Salary: £35,000 - £43,000

White Label Recruitment are working with a growing electronics manufacturing business that is looking to recruit a Production Engineer to join its manufacturing team.

The business designs and manufactures bespoke HMI solutions and supplies products into a range of demanding sectors, including marine, medical, defence & aerospace and industrial markets.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Production Engineer who enjoys working closely with production, solving manufacturing problems and driving continuous improvement. The successful candidate will play a key role in improving manufacturing processes, supporting NPI and ensuring products are manufactured efficiently, safely and to the required quality standards.

The Role
  • Analyse, develop and improve existing production processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and ensure a smooth transition from design into manufacture.
  • Identify and resolve production issues through root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flows and risk assessments.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean, Kaizen and 5S.
  • Provide technical support to production teams and act as the engineering liaison on the shop floor.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs relating to quality, throughput and process reliability.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with relevant health, safety and quality standards.
  • Work closely with Design, Quality and Maintenance teams to improve processes and equipment performance.
  • Support the ongoing optimisation of manufacturing methods and production efficiency.
The Person
  • Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Production Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing or production engineering environment.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Experience with tools such as Lean, Kaizen and 5S.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a structured and analytical approach.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and production environments.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across different departments.
  • Experience creating manufacturing documentation, work instructions or process specifications.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or other relevant quality standards.
  • Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD would be advantageous.
  • A hands‑on approach and willingness to work closely with the shop floor.
