Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd in the United Kingdom seeks a Production Editor to support the studio with non-design tasks, quality control, and production of educational materials. The role involves proofreading, editorial corrections, and text formatting for a range of media, including printed books, CDs, interactive PDFs, web pages and eBooks.

You will work under the Publishing Services Manager, coordinate with suppliers, track costs and schedules, and meet deadlines during pressurised periods.

Qualifications

• Proofreading work carried out by designers for accuracy, editorial corrections as marked on proofs, and maintaining the integrity of design elements.
• Text formatting - laying out text and images in Word, formatting text and making corrections.
• Communicating with colleagues during production to ensure information is accurate and available.
• Assisting with commissioning suppliers and checking editorial briefs to meet schedules and budgets.
• Tracking costs and schedules to ensure on-time delivery and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the production workflow under the Publishing Services Manager.
• Work on educational course material (printed books, CD ROMs, interactive PDFs, web screens, apps, eBooks).
• Carry out non-design tasks and ensure quality and deadlines.
• Assist with researching pictures for published material using internet sources.
• Work outside contracted hours during busy periods paid at overtime rate.
