Cande Group in Hinckley is offering a Production Assistant Apprenticeship to join our busy creative team. You will assist with post‑production tasks, help organise footage, manage assets, and support shoots and livestreams while learning the Production Assistant Standard.

Our apprenticeship focuses on developing hands‑on editing support, project coordination, and collaboration with clients and colleagues, with training provided alongside day‑to‑day work.

Production Assistant Apprentice at Cande Group (Hinckley). Support multi-channel content projects with post-production/editing assistance (Premiere ideal), footage organisation and licensing, project admin and shoots/livestreams. Portfolio/showreel required.

Cande Group is a freethinking creative agency specialising in multi-channel content production. We support clients from the initial spark of an idea through to full production, delivery, and the onward journey of a campaign. Our work ranges from short social promos and animation, to longer narrative content, location-based livestreams, and documentary films.

As our slate of projects grows, we’re looking for a Production Assistant Apprentice who’s excited to build a career in the creative sector and learn how to create content that delivers against real client objectives.

The Role

This is a hands-on apprenticeship role supporting the delivery of multiple projects at different stages, often running at the same time. You’ll assist with post-production, help keep projects neat and structured, and support the team to ensure deadlines are met.

You’ll work closely with the wider production team, taking direction from colleagues and clients, while also contributing your own ideas. The role is client-facing, so we’re looking for someone confident, positive, and professional, with a genuine interest in content creation and storytelling.

You’ll complete the Production Assistant Apprenticeship (Production Assistant Standard), with training and support provided alongside your day-to-day role.

Key Responsibilities

Post-production & editing support

• Assist with editing content in line with client briefs, helping assemble narratives and structure stories using interviews, voiceover, scripts and other source material
• Source and select clips and b-roll to support high production value output
• Support the delivery of high-quality video and animation output
• Optimise video and multimedia content for the intended platform (social, web, livestream, etc.)
• Ensure output follows client brand guidelines
• Help keep footage organised and ensure assets (including stock and UGC) are appropriately licensed
• Support content development from initial idea through to delivery, coordinating with other resources as required
• Attend location-based shoots, livestreams and productions (as part of a crew and occasionally independently)
• Work as part of a team to contribute to creative ideas and concepts
• Maintain project management software and ensure projects are updated with the right information and documentation
• Offer input into internal workflows and systems to help Cande operate smoothly and productively (including contributing to best practice and operational documentation)
• Help manage relationships with clients, colleagues and stakeholders with a can-do, solutions-focused approach
• Support brief development and ideation sessions, helping shape ideas in line with budgets and objectives
• Assist with proof-of-concepts and pitch support where needed

What We’re Looking For

Entry requirements

Applicants should be literate and numerate. Grade C/4 and above in English Maths and IT are required
A portfolio/showreel demonstrating creative work is required, along with a basic understanding of video editing (Adobe Premiere preferred). The apprentice must be organised and detail-oriented, able to keep footage and assets structured, correctly labelled, and appropriately licensed (including stock and UGC), while maintaining quality and consistency with client brand guidelines.

Strong communication skills and a confident, professional manner are essential, as the role is collaborative and client‑facing. The successful candidate should be able to manage deadlines and multiple tasks across overlapping projects, take direction well, and also show initiative to complete tasks independently. They should bring a mix of creative and analytical thinking, with a practical, solutions-focused approach in a fast‑moving environment, and be flexible to travel to shoots and occasionally work weekends/late nights as required.

Training to be provided

Apprentices learn the skills they need on the job with the guidance of a development coach who is an expert from industry. You will finish your apprenticeship with a recognised qualification, valuable industry experience, money, and substantial opportunities for progression within screen and audio production.

Training is delivered through a blended learning model: online learning, classroom sessions, work-based training, independent research, workplace projects, one‑to‑one support and training. Your training will include:

• Pre‑production planning and coordination
• Production paperwork and documentation (e.g., schedules, call sheets, running orders)
• Contributor/guest liaison and communications
• Resource and logistics coordination (locations, kit, travel, access requirements)
• Supporting editorial and production teams to deliver content smoothly
• Basic technical support across camera, lighting, sound and editing workflows (where relevant)
• Managing and organising production assets and files (footage, audio, releases, version control)
• Health & safety, compliance and professional conduct in production environments
• Supporting budgets and finance administration (tracking costs, purchase orders, expenses where applicable)
• Evaluating activity and capturing learning (reflective practice, project evaluation, continuous improvement)

Things to consider

Office-based in Hinckley, Leicestershire, with some flexibility for occasional homeworking. This is a fast‑paced, hands‑on role supporting multiple projects at once, so strong organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to manage deadlines are essential. The role is client‑facing, so you’ll need to be confident and professional when communicating with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.You should also be prepared for travel to location shoots and livestreams, and occasional weekend/late‑night work depending on production schedules (driving licence/vehicle expectations to be confirmed). You’ll be learning on the job while completing the Production Assistant apprenticeship training, so you’ll need to balance day‑to‑day delivery with structured learning and feedback.

The apprentice will gain a recognised Production Assistant apprenticeship qualification (aligned to the Production Assistant Standard) and build real‑world experience working in a fast‑paced, client‑facing creative agency environment. For the right candidate, there is potential for full‑time employment following successful completion, based on performance, business need, and demonstrated capability across collaboration, reliability, and delivery against deadlines.
