Job summary

ExTrac is seeking a Software Engineer to join its AI team, building Co-Analyst and analytical AI features around it. You will own features end to end, from agent orchestration to the services that power analysis, in a Python and Go stack with collaboration across data and ML teams.

The role focuses on production backend systems for a government-grade decision intelligence platform, delivering weekly features while prioritising latency, cost, and reliability.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python; working knowledge of Go.
• Experience with distributed systems and databases.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to scope well-defined problems and communicate clearly.
• Experience building production-grade services.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate Python/Go services and APIs with production-grade reliability.
• Own features end to end within a single system and contribute to design discussions.
• Work with analysts, product, and ML teams to translate requirements into production features.
• Bring up and maintain long-running streaming pipelines and data processing components.
• Experiment and measure changes behind feature flags to show improvements.
