Job summary

Allstate NI, the European Digital Centre of Excellence, seeks a Product Risk Engineer to design, build, and operate production software supporting risk management and controls. You will own end‑to‑end product capabilities, deliver high‑quality code, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve risk reduction and automation.

The role emphasizes modern engineering practices, cloud‑native development, and a strong focus on reliability, scalability, and user outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of software engineering experience with ownership of production systems across the full software development lifecycle.
• Hands-on proficiency in React, Java, and Spring Boot.
• At least 1 year of experience coaching or mentoring engineers to improve technical capability across full‑stack or risk product delivery.
• Ability to design, develop, and integrate APIs, backend services, REST interfaces, SQL data stores, and event-driven components (e.g., Kafka).
• Strong practice of modern development workflows: TDD, paired programming, code review, automated testing, CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate software products that support risk management, risk controls, control workflows, and TORC operational needs.
• Own end‑to‑end risk engineering product capabilities including architecture, deployment, and production support.
• Write, test, and maintain production code across React front ends, Spring Boot services, SQL data layers, and microservices.
• Contribute to scalable, reliable, and secure designs with a focus on risk control outcomes.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineering groups to align capabilities with risk needs.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and promote rapid feedback and incremental delivery.
