Job summary

Leap29 in London is seeking a Product Owner for Data, AI & Engineering to shape data-driven products. You will partner with Data Engineering and technology stakeholders to translate business needs into technical outcomes, owning the product roadmap and prioritising the backlog in a hybrid working environment.

The role requires strong understanding of data platforms, Python and AWS, plus experience in Agile/Scrum and communicating with senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Product Owner, Product Manager or similar in a data-focused environment.
• Strong understanding of data engineering and modern data platforms.
• Experience working closely with Data Engineers or software engineering teams.
• Knowledge of Python and its application within data, automation or AI environments.
• Experience working with AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Strong understanding of AI and how it can be applied to real-world products and business problems.
• Experience writing user stories, defining requirements and managing product backlogs.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to understand technical concepts and translate them into clear business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the product roadmap across data and AI initiatives.
• Work closely with Data Engineers to define requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Translate business requirements into clear technical and product specifications.
• Prioritise the product backlog based on business value and technical considerations.
• Work with engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• Identify opportunities to use AI, automation and data to improve products and processes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Technology, Data, Product and the wider business.
• Help define and measure product success through relevant KPIs and outcomes.
• Support the development of scalable data products and platforms.
• Communicate product priorities, progress and challenges clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
