The Role

The Product Manager (PM) is the ultimate champion of product strategy, market-fit, and long-term business value. Operating alongside the execution-focused Product Owner (who drives technical delivery and backlog management), the Product Manager is primarily externally and commercially focused. This role is responsible for identifying customer needs, market opportunities, and competitive trends to shape the long-term product vision. The Product Manager owns the “why” and “what” of the product roadmap, ensuring every feature aligns perfectly with Orlo’s strategic business goals and delivers measurable market success.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Vision

  • Develop, maintain, and champion a clear, long-term product strategy and vision that aligns with Orlo’s overall business goals and public-sector tailwinds.

  • Continually analyse industry trends, competitive movements, and disruptive technologies to ensure Orlo maintains its position as a market leader.

Market Analysis & Customer Discovery

  • Conduct extensive market research, competitor analysis, and customer interviews to identify market trends, customer pain points, and strategic opportunities.

  • Translate market insights and customer feedback into validated product opportunities and strategic initiatives.

Roadmap Ownership & Strategic Prioritisation

  • Define, own, and manage the strategic product roadmap, establishing clear milestones, releases, and desired business outcomes.

  • Prioritise high-level product initiatives using objective scoring frameworks (such as RICE or MoSCoW) to balance commercial impact with technological investment.

Value Proposition & Go-to-Market (GTM) Alignment

  • Define and articulate compelling product value propositions and positioning for key customer segments and industries.

  • Partner closely with Product Marketing, Sales, Support, and Customer Success to coordinate and execute successful, highly impactful product launches.

Product Lifecycle & Performance Management

  • Establish, monitor, and analyse business-level product performance metrics, system adoption, and user behavior analytics.

  • Act as the commercial owner of the product’s performance, driving growth, user retention, and monetisation strategies across the SaaS product portfolio.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Commercial Leadership

  • Act as the central hub aligning Sales, Support, Marketing, Operations, and Engineering on the long-term product vision and commercial releases.

  • Act as a key spokesperson for the product, articulating its value and strategic roadmap to prospects, partners, and customers.

Strategic Partnerships & Solution Design

  • Work closely with strategic partners to identify and architect integrations and partner solutions (e.g., Microsoft Teams integrations) that address complex customer business challenges.

About You:

  • 5+ years of product management experience within a B2B SaaS or technology environment, with a strong focus on external and commercial strategy.

  • Demonstrated success in defining, owning, and managing strategic product roadmaps and prioritizing initiatives using objective scoring frameworks (such as RICE or MoSCoW).

  • Proven ability to conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer interviews to translate insights into validated product opportunities.

  • Experience partnering closely with Product Marketing, Sales, Support, and Customer Success to define value propositions and execute impactful product launches.

  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, acting as a central hub to align engineering, design, and commercial stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical mindset focused on monitoring SaaS product performance metrics, user behavior analytics, retention, and monetisation strategies.

Why Join Orlo?

  • Hybrid working with flexibility and autonomy.

  • Professional development opportunities and access to industry events.

  • Collaborative, supportive team culture.

  • Based in a central Birmingham HQ with easy transport links.
