We work across marketing, content, events, campaigns, and partnerships to engage students meaningfully through the targetjobs platform, on campus, and in collaboration with universities and employers. We're now expanding our impact through the launch of an exciting new digital platform for student societies-a space for societies to manage their activity, grow their membership, and engage with brands and opportunities. This platform is a strategic priority for our team, and the Digital Product and Commercial Growth Manager will play a key role in shaping its development, driving adoption, and building commercial partnerships to ensure its long-term success.

About this role
We are seeking a talented and ambitious Digital Product & Commercial Growth Manager to lead the continued evolution and expansion of our societies management software platform. This hybrid role blends digital product leadership with commercial growth strategy, and is ideal for someone with entrepreneurial flair, creativity, and a genuine interest in empowering student communities.
You'll be responsible for driving user acquisition, retention, and platform engagement while also acting as the voice of the user-commissioning and shaping platform enhancements and new features that delight. Our Society Management Platform has student led feedback loops that lead to effective product development and experience improvement for users.
- Act as the product owner. Own and evolve the platform roadmap by translating student society and stakeholder feedback into user-first product decisions.
- Drive delivery of new features and UX/UI improvements in collaboration with product, design, and engineering teams to improve platform usability and satisfaction.
- Ensure that all platform developments are insight-led and aligned with both user needs and long-term business priorities.
The platform targets for adoption, retention & community growth are met
- Lead go-to-market plans for new features, driving platform sign-ups, onboarding, and long-term engagement from student societies and unions.
- Build a network of student society leaders and SU stakeholders to act as advocates for the platform and increase reach and usage.
- Design and deliver campaigns and lifecycle strategies to boost activation, repeat usage, and community involvement.
Successful marketing campaigns and partnerships lead to consistent platform growth commercially
- Build and execute scalable marketing strategies-across digital, content, and student-driven community channels-that grow visibility and platform usage.
- The GTM team are provided with collateral and support to ensure successful selling of the product as part of our end to end solution.
- Identify, secure, and manage commercial partnerships that add value to the platform and deliver revenue growth.
- Track and analyse marketing and usage metrics to optimise campaigns, messaging, and platform flows across the user journey.
There is continuous innovation and improvement to the platform and its managed services that is driven by insights.
- Monitor user behaviour and campaign performance through tools like Google Analytics, Hotjar, Looker, and direct student feedback.
- Deliver personalised, high-performing experiences through rapid experimentation, testing, and iteration.
- Use segmentation strategies to target student cohorts with campaigns that align to different points in the customer lifecycle.
You are able to provide strategic influence and enable cross-team collaboration to ensure to success launch and delivery of the product
- Work closely with Product, Student Success, Marketing, and Engineering teams to integrate feedback, surface user insight, and build a transparent, community-first development cycle.
- Act as the internal voice of the student user, shaping product priorities and contributing to wider company strategy with a student engagement lens.
- Champion a test-and-learn culture within the team, balancing bold experimentation with robust measurement and commercial focus.

Work Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Experience in a leadership or executive role within a student union or student society is essential.
- Proven track record in digital product management, marketing, or startup/growth environments.
- Strong skills in digital marketing tools and platforms (e.g. social media, CRM, analytics).
- Understanding of UX/UI principles and product development lifecycle.
- Comfortable working with or alongside development/design teams to build tech products.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong experience in a problem-solving product or growth role
- Experience of working closely with BI & Behavioural analytics tools within a CRO environment (Google Analytics, Looker, etc)
- Proven skills in creating, running and analysing experimentation cycles
- Knowledge of Scrum and Agile development, working closely with engineering teams including backlog prioritisation and user story creation
- High level understanding of a typical tech stack: frontend, backend, APIs
Desired
- Experience scaling digital products in startup or SaaS environments.
- Familiarity with student union structures and the annual society lifecycle.
- Previous work with community platforms, event management software, or CRM tools.
- Competence in tools such as JIRA, Figma, Canva. Webflow, or similar.
- A background in design, communications, or user research is a plus.
- Familiarity with a form of development: web dev, app dev.
Other Information
• Permanent role - 37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday 9am-5:30pm.
• 3-month probationary period.
