Job summary

Greencore Group plc is seeking a Product Developer to drive new and existing product development from concept through to successful launch. You will collaborate across five manufacturing sites, manage costings, and ensure quality, nutrition, and regulatory targets are met.

The role requires driving feasibility studies, documenting processes, and leading scale-up trials with cross-functional teams. Regular travel and a full UK driving licence are expected.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in food product development.
• Analytical; comfortable with costings and documentation.
• Proficient in all stages from concept to launch.
• Proven track record of validating products and producing high‑quality docs.
• Confident in presenting to colleagues and customers.
• Experience in leading teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop new and modify existing recipes to meet briefs, costs, weights and nutrition targets.
• Input recipes into the recipe management system and ensure accuracy.
• Assess viability of new ingredients from operational and technical viewpoints.
• Prepare feasibility and concept-to-process handovers with documentation.
• Lead scale-up trials and ensure production quality aligns with kitchen sign-off.
• Present benchmarking and new products at internal and customer meetings.
• Follow critical path timelines and escalate delays as needed.
• Provide leadership to keep the team safe, engaged and productive.
