Job summary

West London design consultancy is seeking a contract Product Design Engineer to turn established design intent into robust, manufacturable parts across medical, healthcare and consumer devices. Outside IR35, on site, with potential to convert to permanent for the right person.

The role sits between industrial design and mechanical engineering, requiring excellent SOLIDWORKS skills to master modelling and to drive tooling-ready plastic housings with strong DFM, delivering parts ready to cut.

Qualifications

• Product Design Engineer with industrial design and mechanical engineering background.
• Excellent SOLIDWORKS skills with master modelling and robust CAD databases.
• Experience engineering plastic housings through to tooling drawings with strong DFM.

Responsibilities

• Turn established design intent into clean, manufacturable parts.
• Master model in SOLIDWORKS and build a robust CAD database.
• Engineer plastic housings and casings through to tooling drawings with DFM.
• Work on handheld details like buttons, joysticks and capsense interfaces.
• Bring standalone subsystems together into full systems and solve practical challenges.
