Job summary

FC Engineering Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Product Design Engineer in Gatwick to join its client’s team. You will develop new products from concept through to manufacture, producing 3D models and technical drawings using 3D CAD.

The role requires experience in mechanical engineering or product design, proficiency with Inventor, SolidWorks or Creo, and an understanding of plastics and injection moulding. You’ll work with internal teams and manufacturers on varied projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical engineering or product design.
• Proficient in 3D CAD modelling using Inventor, SolidWorks or Creo.
• Understanding of plastics and injection moulding processes.
• Experience taking products from concept through manufacture.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and material selection.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Consumer product design experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop new products from concept through to manufacture.
• Produce 3D models and technical drawings using 3D CAD.
• Design plastic components, housings and mechanical assemblies.
• Support prototyping, testing and product development activities.
• Consider materials, manufacturing processes and production costs.
• Work closely with internal teams and external manufacturers.
• Improve existing products through design modifications.
