Job summary

FC Engineering Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our design team in Crawley. You will initially focus on using 3D CAD and AutoCAD to produce accurate drawings and models for production.

You will work with experienced engineers on design solutions, considering manufacturing methods, cost and production time while developing your skills toward more complex projects. This is a permanent, full-time role in West Sussex.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Experience using 3D CAD software from university projects, placements or employment.
• Solid understanding of engineering drawings and mechanical design principles.
• Interest in manufacturing and practical engineering.
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving.
• Ability to consider different solutions to an engineering challenge.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced engineers.
• Organise workload and meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Produce 3D models and engineering drawings.
• Adapt existing designs to meet bespoke customer requirements.
• Prepare drawings for customers and production team.
• Review project requirements and identify practical design solutions.
• Consider manufacturing methods, cost and production time when developing designs.
• Work closely with experienced engineers to resolve technical challenges.
• Update drawings and maintain accurate technical documentation.
• Liaise with manufacturing team to ensure designs can be produced effectively.
• Support design improvements and problem-solving activities.
• Take on increasingly complex projects as skills develop.
