Accept Recruitment's client in Coventry is seeking a Design Engineer to design and develop mechanical components from concept through production, producing 3D models and 2D drawings to GD&T standards. You'll perform stress analyses, support customer specials, and work closely with production, quality and purchasing to ensure cost-effective designs.

Prototyping and validation support included. Ideal candidates have a mechanical engineering degree, strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks desirable), and

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• Proven experience as a Design Engineer in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong 3D CAD skills; SolidWorks desirable.
• Good grasp of manufacturing processes, materials and tolerancing.
• Driveline, gearbox or transmission experience is a bonus but not required.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies, from concept through to production.
• Produce 3D models and detailed 2D manufacturing drawings to recognised standards (GD&T).
• Carry out engineering calculations, including stress analysis.
• Support customer specials and application engineering requests.
• Work closely with production, quality and purchasing to make sure designs can be manufactured at the right cost.
• Manage engineering change, BOMs and documentation.
• Help with prototype build, testing and validation.
