Job summary

Birmingham City Council is seeking a Systems and Performance Analyst to join its Transformation, Reporting and Intelligence team. The role will drive smarter procurement through systems, technology and data, acting as a super-user for major procurement platforms and delivering improvements across the council.

You will automate processes, enhance user experience and ensure high-quality data to support commercial decision-making within one of the UK’s largest local authorities.

Qualifications

• Experience administering, configuring or acting as a super-user for complex business systems such as Finance, ERP, CRM or procurement platforms.
• Experience improving business processes through system optimisation and digital transformation.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical users.

Responsibilities

• Act as super-user for key commercial and procurement systems; manage configuration, access and permissions.
• Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve workflows.
• Provide expert system support and work with IT teams and suppliers to deliver improvements.
• Design and deliver training and user resources.
• Support integration of procurement systems with wider platforms; ensure data integrity and flows.
• Develop standard reports, data extracts and system functionality for performance management.
• Monitor system performance and user feedback to drive continuous improvement.
