Procurement Manager

Role Overview:

We are partnered with a rapidly growing insurance firm who are seeking a procurement manager to come and join their team. This is a brownfield department and a maturing team. We are looking for strong candidates with experience in category management, strategic sourcing and working in immature environments.

In this role, you will be the face of procurement to a specific business unit. In such, your sourcing will be varied (though technology will be the largest area of spend). You will build a procurement strategy that looks 18 months - 2 years into the future while working with the wider team to drive best practice, determine what good looks like, built tools, templates and procedures.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with excellent stakeholders skills, looking for a senior position and an ability to put their own stamp on things in a developing team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain Category Plans aligned to the strategic objectives
• Deliver cost savings that contribute to meeting agreed team targets
• Build great relationships with business stakeholders, acting as a trusted partner to provide an excellent procurement service
• To provide quality advice and guidance to internal customers on all aspects of the procurement process
• Work with the wider team to build maturity in the procurement function and drive best practice.
• Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial and operational risks

Essential Experience:

• Solid demonstrable experience in leading procurement activity within a regulated environment
• Experienced in developing and implementing procurement strategies and managing the end-to-end procurement process
• Experience building capability with a procurement team/function
• Proven ability to negotiate critical contracts, minimising business risk while maximising commercial benefits
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
• Excellent knowledge of procurement strategy development and execution
• Advanced negotiation, influencing, and decision-making skills.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong time management and organisational abilities.
