Job summary

Kier Group in Brighton is seeking a Procurement Manager to support sourcing, negotiation and governance of goods and subcontract procurement within the Southern Water team. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with procurement policies and delivering value through effective supplier relationships and client collaboration.

You will work in a hybrid setup with travel to offices and sites as required, contributing to procurement plans, KPI tracking, and governance processes to optimise sourcing

Qualifications

• A relevant degree (or equivalent) with proven experience in the industry.
• Chartered CIPS membership or working towards chartership, or an appropriate professional qualification.
• Experience in infrastructure/utilities sector including civil engineering and MEICA requirements.
• Excellent self-management, communication and IT skills with ability to build strong relationships.
• Excellent analytical, numerical and planning skills with knowledge of SAP SRM and Jaggaer systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring procurement policies for Kier Group and Framework are followed, including Health and Safety accreditation and Sustainability standards.
• Negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers to balance contractual risks and KPIs for best value.
• Developing and managing preferred suppliers and strategic partnerships for quality and value.
• Leading compliance of Framework contract obligations and driving client approval processes.
• Managing procurement activities, developing project procurement plans, and attending client workshops.

We're looking for a Procurement Manager to join our Southern Water team based in Brighton.

Location

Falmer, Brighton - Hybrid working available with travel to offices and sites as required

Hours

40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

In this role, you'll be working within the procurement team, supporting them with the sourcing, negotiation and governance of goods and subcontract procurement. What will you be responsible for?

• Managing and prioritising procurement activities, developing project procurement plans, and attending client workshops

What are we looking for?

• You have a relevant degree (or equivalent) with proven experience within a similar role in the industry
• You have Chartered CIPS membership or are working towards chartership, or hold an appropriate professional qualification
• You have strong experience within the infrastructure/utilities sector including civil engineering and MEICA requirements
• You possess excellent self-management, communication, and IT skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships
• You have excellent analytical, numerical, and planning skills with knowledge of SAP SRM and Jaggaer systems
