Job description

The Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement function of the organisation, ensuring the acquisition of goods and services in a cost-effective and timely manner while maintaining quality standards.

You will implement procurement strategies and manage supplier relationships. You will also work closely with various departments to support the organisation's operational needs and strategic goals.

Job Requirements

Essential:

  • Proven experience (7+ years) in procurement management, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in procurement software and tools.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement.

Desirable:

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies and pricing structures to optimise efficiency and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Forecast procurement needs and industry trends to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to ensure favorable terms.
  • Evaluate and monitor supplier performance and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Develop and enforce procurement policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and manage risks associated with procurement activities.
  • Manage the procurement budget, ensuring expenditures align with financial goals.
  • Monitor cost performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities and financial performance.
  • Streamline procurement processes to enhance efficiency and reduce cycle times.
  • Utilise procurement software and tools to optimise operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure procurement supports overall organizational efficiency.
