Job summary

Thorn Baker Construction is seeking a Buying Administrator to support our busy operation, ensuring stock and supplies are available when needed. You will report to the Procurement Manager and collaborate with Purchasing, Stock Control, Finance and Logistics.

Responsibilities include raising purchase orders, identifying suppliers, maintaining stock records in Excel, and monitoring stock levels across stationery, PPE, factory and cleaning consumables.

Qualifications

• Applicants should be highly organised with excellent communication skills and a proactive approach.
• Experience in buying, purchasing, procurement, stock control, or administration is preferred.
• Strong Excel skills and the ability to manage competing priorities are important.

Responsibilities

• Raise purchasing requests and process Purchase Orders.
• Identify suitable suppliers and ensure correct product specifications.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
• Manage and resolve supplier, customer and invoice queries.
• Monitor stock levels across stationery, PPE, factory and cleaning consumables, welfare items and other materials.
• Carry out daily stock checks and support stock takes (weekly, monthly, yearly).
• Maintain accurate stock records using Excel.
• Monitor and maintain the Kanban stock system and re-order requests.
• Help maintain a clean, safe and organised office and yard.
