Job summary

A leading company in the electronic components sector is seeking a Procurement Specialist to manage supplier relationships and support purchasing processes. The role includes preparing orders, ensuring optimum stock levels, and resolving quality issues. Candidates should have experience in a purchasing team, ideally within an Aerospace environment, alongside strong negotiation and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a purchasing team, preferably in Aerospace.
  • Able to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
  • Keen attention to detail with good interpersonal and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support P2P process with Procurement buyers.
  • Resolve supplier quality material issues and maintain supplier relationships.
  • Prepare purchase orders in line with customer demand.

Job description

  • Support the P2P process with a team of Procurement buyers
  • Prepare and raise purchase orders and general stock replenishment
  • Purchase goods, materials and components in line with customer demand.
  • Ensure stocking levels are at the optimum levels.
  • Resolve supplier quality material issues identified in warehouse (documentation and quality).
  • Work with sales to provide general updates / changes to the open purchase orders
  • Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications.
  • Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships.
  • Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with others in the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous improvement and business improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience of working in a purchasing team preferably within an Aerospace or manufacturing environment
  • Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or similar qualification or studying towards CIPS qualification would be beneficial
  • Good knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, commercial understanding and cost breakdown
  • Experience of working closely with suppliers
  • Able to add value, reduce costs and input to business improvements
  • Computer literate, with advanced Excel skills/abilities
  • Familiarity with an integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system would be beneficial
  • Able to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with staff, stakeholders andsuppliers.
  • Good communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Able to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks and achieve set targets.
  • ·Commercial and financial awareness with a full understanding of how failure impacts the Business and customer order fulfilment
  • Able to work well under pressure and handle emergency and stressful situations.
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy
