Job summary

OSI Electronics, UK, based in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, is seeking a Process Supervisor to direct production activities in the SMT area and drive on-time delivery. Qualifications

  • Read & follow assembly documentation to produce electronic assemblies (PCBA or Final Assembly).
  • Complete all relevant paperwork and record material movement in the shop floor manufacturing system.
  • High attention to detail and high accuracy in assembling/testing kits of parts is essential.
  • Excellent material handling skills including ESD awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the SMT production process to meet delivery requirements and inform planning of deviations.
  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of the SMT Process Team for smooth operation.
  • Liaise with supporting functions to ensure materials, documentation and tooling are available for manufacture.
  • Ensure assembled/tested products meet build standards and record data in the shop floor system.
  • Assist team with building of new or major changes and ensure they are familiar with information and standards.
  • Review OEE and other performance measures and provide root cause analysis.

The Process Supervisor will direct the development and implementation of activities in the production area to meet production goals and cost objectivities. Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency and material supply. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the area with individuals knowing the work they must do, how it should be undertaken and the standard it should be completed to

Responsibilities
  • Lead the SMT production process to ensure products are manufactured in line with relevant production plans to meet the delivery requirements of both internal and external customers. While informing planning of any deviations from plan.
  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of the SMT Process Team to ensure smooth operation of the department, maintaining control and balance of processes and tasks.
  • Liaise with the supporting functions to ensure materials, documentation and tooling are available to produce the items required for manufacture according to the production plan. (This includes dealing with short & faulty supply of parts, escalating ECRs etc).
  • Ensure all team members assemble products carefully following relevant information given from assembly/test documentation. To ensure assembled/tested products meet the required build standard and record assembly data into the shop floor manufacturing system.
  • To assist team members involved with the building of new, unfamiliar or major changes since the last construction/testing of assembly items ensuring they are fully conversant with the information and standard required.
  • Review OEE and other similar performance measures while providing root cause analysis of causes. Information is to be readily available for routine reporting.
  • Implement improvements within the department with regards to performance, cost saving and lean ideologies.
  • Identify, support, coach, motivate and help develop the skills of the individual members of staff.
  • Monitor the performance of direct reports and set SMART objectives & targets and regularly review their performance against these.
  • Support the Production Manager with recruitment and Cap Ex suggestions.
  • You will demonstrate behaviour consistent with the company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct. Ensure that direct report(s) are trained and evaluated on their knowledge and adherence to the company’s values, Code of Ethics and Conduct, and applicable compliance policies.
  • It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.
  • Perform other duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
