Job summary

OSI Systems, Inc. seeks a Quality Lead to develop and maintain robust QA systems at its UK site. You will drive continuous improvements, develop control plans and PFMEA, and oversee audits to ensure product quality aligns with customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • The first point of contact to the shop floor for product quality issues on mechanical fit, process quality and component specs.
  • Undertake investigations and ensure rapid containment with long-term corrective actions.
  • Compile regular reports for the Quality Manager and staff.
  • Analyse production data to develop and report key quality metrics and corrective actions.
  • Provide technical support with engineering to achieve correct quality standards.
  • Communicate quality information to internal and external customers to ensure compliance.
  • Complete FAIRs to customer requirements.
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure purchased goods meet quality standards.
  • Process quality concerns using 8D corrective action reports.
  • Carry out internal and external audits.
  • Experience in Aerospace, Medical or Automotive industries.

Overview

Role Overall

To provide an effective and robust quality function to the site leading to continuous improvements in quality and other standards together with the associated ISO systems.


Develops, implements and maintains technical quality assurance and control systems and activities. Defines and specifies the implementation of standards, methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision, accuracy and reliability of company products.


Participates in the reviewing of engineering designs to contribute quality requirements and considerations. Assists product support areas in gathering and analysing data


Responsibilities


  • The first point of contact to the shop floor for product quality issues of mechanical fit, process quality and electronic component specification.

  • To undertake investigations and ensure rapid containment activities are enforced ensuring long term corrective action is taken.

  • Compile regular reports to/for the Quality Manager and any relevant staff.

  • Proactively analyse production data.To develop and report key quality metrics, review and action processes that facilitate the continual improvement of those metrics and propose corrective actions in reports to the Quality Manager.

  • Provide technical support with engineering to production staff in order for them to be able to produce products to the correct quality standards.

  • Communicate and co-ordinate quality information to all internal/external customers in order to ensure compliance.

  • Complete FAIRs to specified customer requirements.

  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure all purchased goods are to the required quality standard.

  • Process customer, supplier and internal quality /concerns using 8D corrective action report.

  • Carry out internal and external audits.

  • Experience within the Aerospace, Medical or Automotive industries.

Qualifications


  • Educated to HNC level or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in an electronics manufacturing organisation.

  • Good understanding of process design and development (eg PFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, etc).

  • Strong IT skills required.
