Flogas Britain is seeking a Process Safety Engineer to lead the ongoing safety management program across field operations. You will coordinate PSM and PP activities, drive safety improvements, and support line managers with incident investigations.

Qualifications

• Chemical or Petrochemical engineering background relevant to process safety.
• Experience in plant environments or safety consultancy is preferred.
• Strong communication and influencing skills across levels.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and improve process safety management systems across operations.
• Provide guidance and coaching to operational leads on safety practices.
• Drive accountability for process safety performance in all sites.
• Support incident investigations and reporting with line management.
• Partner with managers to minimize process safety risks.
• Facilitate risk assessments and advise on risk reduction measures.

How you’ll power our business as a Process Safety Engineer

As a Process Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for implementation and continual improvement of our process safety management systems. This position coordinates Process Safety Management (PSM) and Property Protection (PP) activities.

Here at Flogas, we may have a fossil fuels background, but we’re working towards delivering 100% renewable energy to our customers by 2040. We’re already supporting our customers to reduce their carbon emissions, by helping them make the switch from oil to gas. We’re also developing our offering for technologies such as heat pumps and solar panels, beginning to help our customers reduce their energy consumption and evolving new bio-fuels and renewable gases. Here’s what you’ll be doing

• Providing tools & training to drive a positive change in process safety culture in Flogas
• Providing guidance, coaching and advice to operational leads
• Driving accountability for process safety performance in all parts of the operation
• Providing support and expertise to line management on process safety incident investigation and reporting
• Working in partnership with operational leads & managers to minimise process safety risks
• Facilitating / conducting process safety risk assessment and advising and supporting line managers in the reduction of risk

What we’ll need from you

• Chemical or Mechanical Engineering degree or in a similar technical field, background or qualification
• Experience in Chemical or Petrochemical industry in a plant environment or from working for an engineering / process safety specialist consultancy
• Persuasive and personable communication skills with all levels of the organisation
• Self-motivated and good organisational skills to be enable planning, execution and implementation in a timely manner in a highly autonomous role
• Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills to achieve results through diverse cross-functional teams
