Job summary

Origen Carbon is building zero-emission lime and preparing for industrial deployment. We are hiring a Process Development Lead to own the process questions for scaling plants, working closely with our VP Technology and Design Engineering Manager.

This is an individual contributor role with room to grow, requiring hands-on process engineering, experience with OEMs, CFD, heat and mass balances, and a background in lime or minerals processing. Bristol-based with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Genuine process engineering experience in an industrial, capital-intensive setting.
• Comfortable with long-term questions without fixed deadlines.
• Has worked directly with OEMs, suppliers or external technical partners.
• Comfortable with heat and mass balances and process flow diagrams yourself.
• Background in lime, cement, minerals processing or similar high-temperature industries; CFD and flowsheet modelling experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own a prioritised portfolio of process improvement initiatives with leadership.
• Assess concepts for industrial-scale-up: feasibility, cost impact, robustness.
• Translate scientific findings into engineering-ready requirements.
• Lead feasibility and trade-off analyses for major process changes.
• Build relationships with OEMs, suppliers and external partners.
• Work with Design Engineering as the process voice in reviews.
• Report progress and risks to the VP Technology and contribute to investor discussions.
