Job summary

Sofina Foods is seeking an Assistant Line Leader to support the production line, maintain food safety and quality standards, and deliver customer specifications. Reporting to the Line Leader, you will act in their absence and drive improvements in efficiency and conformance on a fast-paced line.

Ideal candidates have substantial food manufacturing experience, Level 3 Food Hygiene, HACCP knowledge, and a proactive coaching approach to developing the team in a busy production environment.

Qualifications

  • Experienced within a food production environment.
  • Detail-focused with a strong commitment to quality standards.
  • Qualified to Level 3 Food Hygiene or equivalent.
  • Knowledgeable in HACCP principles and food safety requirements.
  • Numerate and literate with the ability to complete records accurately.
  • Customer-focused with a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Confident supporting and coaching colleagues.
  • Committed to delivering high standards in a fast-paced environment.
  • Three or more years' experience within food manufacturing.
  • Experience supporting line performance and team development.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the production line in the absence of the Line Leader.
  • Carry out routine quality checks and support colleagues in achieving first-time conformance.
  • Ensure food safety and quality standards are maintained across the production area.
  • Report non-conformances promptly and support corrective actions.
  • Confirm the availability of ingredients, labels and packaging before production begins.
  • Maintain accurate production records and management information.
  • Oversee machinery hygiene checks and report defects to the relevant teams.
  • Set up machinery correctly to support efficient line operation.
  • Support audit preparation and continuous improvement activities.
  • Help drive improvements in quality, compliance and production performance.

Role Overview

As an Assistant Line Leader, you'll play a key role in supporting the efficient running of the production line while maintaining the highest food safety and quality standards. Reporting to the Line Leader, you'll take responsibility for line performance in their absence and help ensure production plans are delivered safely, efficiently and to customer specification.
