Job summary

Carlisle Support Services is seeking a Security Officer for Bradford Bus Station in West Yorkshire. The role is full-time and permanent, with 12-hour shift patterns: 06:00–18:00 (x2) and 13:00–01:00 (x2).

You’ll help create a welcoming, safe environment for all visitors and work closely with the bus station team to support the West Yorkshire Combined Authority. The ideal candidate will display enthusiasm, strong customer service and communication skills, with a pro-active, professional approach

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to assist visitors in a helpful and confident manner.
• Good communication skills in face-to-face situations.
• Pro-active attitude to solve problems before they arise.
• Awareness of safe working practices and adherence to policy.

Responsibilities

• Be proactive to ensure standards at the bus stations are met.
• Respond to incidents and problems promptly and effectively.
• Monitor safety and behaviour to prevent offence or distress to patrons.
• Move on buskers, beggars, rough sleepers and antisocial behaviour.
• Prevent cyclists from riding or chaining bicycles on site.
• Provide local transport information to station users.
