Job summary

Carlisle Support Services seeks a Security Officer at Heckmondwike Bus Station, West Yorkshire. The role is full-time and permanent, with 12-hour shift patterns (4 on, 4 off) and hours spanning 07:00–19:00 and 12:00–00:00.

You’ll promote a safe, welcoming environment and work closely with the West Yorkshire Combined Authority to protect visitors. Ideal candidates show enthusiasm, pro-active problem solving, excellent customer service, and a smart presentation.

Responsibilities

• Be pro-active to ensure expected standards of the Combined Authority bus stations and staff are met.
• Respond to incidents, situations and problems as soon as possible.
• Prevent acts that may cause offence or distress and monitor health and safety.
• Move on buskers/beggars/rough sleepers and deal with antisocial behaviour.
• Prevent cyclists from riding or chaining bicycles within the premises.
• Provide local transport information to station users.
• Maintain positive relationships with the client and stakeholders; handle queries and keep the contract Security Manager & Bus Station Manager informed.
