Job summary

Ritz Recruitment is seeking a proactive multi-skilled Maintenance Operative in Manchester (M15) to join a busy student accommodation team. You will manage planned, preventative and reactive maintenance to keep the estate safe, compliant, and well-presented.

Responsibilities include responding to requests, carrying out plumbing, decorating and joinery tasks, inspecting rooms and common areas, and maintaining maintenance records.

Qualifications

• Proven maintenance/handyman/multi-skilled labourer experience.
• Strong practical skills across general maintenance disciplines.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests via internal systems.
• Carry out general repairs including plumbing, decorating and joinery.
• Support reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Conduct inspections of rooms and communal areas.
• Identify safety risks and address maintenance issues.
• Maintain records for maintenance logs and compliance.
• Deliver professional, approachable service to residents.
• Communicate clearly with residents and teams.
