Job summary

Ritz Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a proactive Maintenance Operative in Leicester to support a busy student accommodation. The role covers both reactive and planned maintenance to keep the estate safe, compliant and well-presented, with a strong focus on resident experience.

You will handle repairs, routine tasks, and inspections, ensuring timely responses and clear communication with residents and teams. Tools are provided, and holiday pay is included for this static on-site role.

Qualifications

• Proven Maintenance/Handyman/Trade experience.
• Strong practical skills across general maintenance disciplines.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• A reliable and self-motivated individual who takes ownership of their work.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests via internal systems.
• Carry out general repairs, including plumbing, decorating, joinery.
• Support both reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.
• Conduct regular inspections of rooms and communal areas.
• Identify and address maintenance issues and health & safety risks.
• Support record-keeping for maintenance logs, inspections, and compliance.
• Deliver a professional and approachable service to residents.
• Communicate clearly and effectively across teams and with residents.
