Job summary

Building Careers UK Ltd. is seeking a proactive Housing Officer to oversee a portfolio of properties in London. You will support tenants to maintain tenancies, ensure properties are compliant and well maintained, and liaise with contractors and other professionals.

The role requires excellent communication, strong organisation, and the ability to handle diverse tenant scenarios. Driving license is required, with hours Mon-Fri, 9:00–17:00 and temporary assignment terms.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing, property management or tenancy management.
• Able to handle sensitive situations professionally.
• Highly organised with attention to detail.
• Confident communicator, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of residential properties and tenancies.
• Be the main contact for tenants and resolve issues promptly.
• Carry out property inspections and tenancy visits.
• Identify and report repairs, safety concerns and maintenance needs.
• Co-ordinate with contractors and maintenance teams for works.
• Monitor rent accounts and address arrears with tenants.
• Support tenancy enforcement following policies and procedures.
• Handle tenancy changes, renewals and terminations.
