Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a proactive Healthcare Assistant to support a GP practice in Newcastle Upon Tyne. The role focuses on routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity.

You will help manage patient flow in a structured primary care environment, assist with core clinical duties, perform observations, phlebotomy (if trained) and update records in the clinical system.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation
• Supporting with treatment room procedures
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained)
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required
