Job summary

SMT Recruitment in Hinxworth, England, is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join a busy finance team on a permanent basis. The role focuses on managing customer accounts, monitoring payments, and maintaining strong relationships.

You will need excellent attention to detail and strong Excel skills; SAP experience is advantageous. This office-based position runs Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm with a one-hour lunch break.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a credit control role.
• Essential Excel experience.
• SAP experience would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Follow established credit control and debt collection procedures.
• Ensure customer payments are received within agreed timescales while maintaining positive customer relationships.
• Review and approve sales orders against agreed customer credit limits, coordinating with relevant teams.
• Allocate invoices and credits, reconcile customer accounts, and maintain accurate records.
• Prepare and distribute monthly customer statements and report any credit concerns to the line manager.
• Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required by senior management.
