Job summary

Bruin is partnering with an established private wealth business in London to recruit a hands-on Compliance Training & Competence Manager who will oversee the practical delivery and ongoing development of the firm’s T&C framework.

You will work closely with Advisers, Compliance and senior stakeholders to ensure knowledge, skills and behaviours meet regulatory expectations and support high-quality client advice.

Qualifications

• Experience in Training & Competence within regulated financial services.
• Experience assessing and supervising financial advisers, ideally in Private Wealth.
• Solid understanding of FCA regulatory requirements, SMCR and certification.
• Experience conducting adviser assessments, CPD reviews and file reviews.
• Ability to identify gaps, give constructive feedback and drive improvement.
• Strong organisational skills and accurate T&C record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operation of the T&C framework to meet regulatory requirements.
• Design, deliver and coordinate practical training programmes for advisers.
• Conduct regular assessments through observations, tests and file reviews.
• Provide feedback and work with managers to address knowledge gaps and improvements.
• Develop and manage Adviser Improvement Plans with clear objectives.
• Maintain T&C records and produce MI on outcomes and trends.
• Assist with SMCR certification by reviewing evidence and gaps.
• Engage with Private Wealth, Compliance and senior management on the framework.
• Support delivery of suitable investment advice aligned with FCA rules.
